Every year the Nashville Nights International Songwriters Festival takes place in September in Odense - Denmark Every year we say this is as good as it gets - but listen - it just keeps getting better and better !!!

What is so great about the festival?
Lets begin by talking about the elephant in the room - most people I tell about the festival think it is a barn somewhere and we are all dressed up as cowboys and girls, sipping whisky and doing linedance for 3 days.
It has nothing to do with that - It is a songwriters festival where You will experience the talent talking about how, where and why they wrote the particular song they want to perform for You. Many of the songs are already published and available to stream and buy, but some are unpublished and being tested out on the live audience. Listening to the stories is mostly funny, but it can also be very emotional and the talent share these deep thoughts and emotions with the crowd. It can be songs about breakups, mourning the loss of friends and family and about personal struggles - and it can also just be about a happy things, someone tired of an ex, murder songs or even a song about a beer or duck tape :-) You can experience all emotions at this Festival and You will!
The Artists: Or as I prefer to call them the talent come from mainly the US but also Norway, Sweden, UK and Ireland among others and they are all so gifted and friendly. If you ask them they will tell You that, this Festival and the whole team behind NNISF is one big family and they write songs together and help each other in the most inspiring way. The talent that are not performing will also be seen at the venues backing up their friends - It is amazing.
The music is a mix of country, rock, indie, pop, blues and Americana meaning there is something for everybody to enjoy.
The talent all live in Odense for the period of the festival and are all walking around in the streets of Odense and they always have a minute for a chat, a selfie or just a quick smile.
Venues: All the venues are situated in Odense within walking distance from each other and they all make you feel very wanted and the talent seem to love all the venues because it is just full of what we in Denmark call "hygge" - coziness.
Most of the concerts are called writers rounds where the audience is seated and the talent are 3-4 people on stage taking turns telling about themselves and why and what inspired them to write the particular song they will be singing.
This year there were more full band shows and also solo shows, which in my opinion is a good thing, because you can pick and choose what you want to hear. Many of the concerts are simultaneous and should you not feel like sitting and listening to a writers round or a talk, then you go to a Full band show.
Venues 2024: Musikhuset Posten, Musikhuset Dexter, Frølageret, Studenterhuset Odense, Magasinet, Storms pakhus, Anarkist and the reception called The Circus (Rosenbækhuset)
The audience: The audience is growing every year and is a variety of many different people from different countries, from old to young and everybody are just enjoying themselves and having the best time. The talent especially from overseas are blown away with the love they feel up on stage and they love our clapping mentality which is second to none when they come to Denmark.
It is almost impossible to describe how fun it is to be part of this Festival. You can watch a video, read an article or listen to your friends talking about it, but to fully comprehend what all the fuzz is about, You need to come experience it for yourself. If you have been there yourself already then remember to tell all the people You know how magic this Festival is and get them to come and participate in 2025 - join the NNISF family and Friends.
